Good grief. These mothers are blind to the reality of what these teens were up to. It wasn’t just bad friends - a rational look at the circumstances suggest they were up to their necks in serious crime, possibly due to addiction, possibly just for the thrills, maybe for the money, but definitely aware of whatever foolishness they were involved in. The brother plays the innocent bystander card but his body language, furtive eyes at crucial moments, and choice of words suggest he knows a lot more but conceals it because it would implicate him in things he wants to hide.
